| Comments | Match Report Report from the Daily Record. Queen's Park 4 Ross County 2 Queen's Park boss John McCormack reckons everyone from the kit man to club doctor deserve a share of the credit for his side's emphatic victory over high-flying Ross County. The Dingwall men were brought back to earth with a huge bump at Hampden on Saturday after coming so close to dumping Hearts out of the League Cup in midweek. County looked to be on track to maintaining their 100 per cent winning record that has seen them coast to the tod of the Third Division before an amazing second half come-back by Queen's. McCormack said: "This was a real team effort for it involved the club doctor, the kit man and everyone in the backroom. "All during the week we had been plagued by a virus and by bumps and bruises and knocks, Basically, we all worked together to make sure that was overcome. "The players themselves were totally committed and their attitude was just right. "I had watched Ross County in midweek and they are a very good side and to give them two goals of a start and come back and win like this lets me see the character that is in this team." But it looked so very different when Ross County substitute Neil Tarrant put his side ahead with a two-goal burst early in the second period. However, the Queen's fightback began with a Derek McGill 63rd minute penalty and a couple of minutes later Ross Caven headed the equaliser. There was no stopping Queen's now and Paul Martin knocked in No.3 before Scott Edgar drove in a fourth to complete the scoring. But Ross County still sit on top of the table with a three-point lead and boss Neale Cooper was not too down-hearted after a week in which he lost star striker Derek Adams to Motherwell. Cooper said: "I am pleased that our 100 per cent record kept going as long as it did. "We have had a busy week and I am sure we will get back to winning the points again. "We are still top of the table and we knew that our first defeat had to come sometime." |
