| Comments | Match Report Report by Karen O'Malley for the Scotsman. Cowdenbeath 2 Ross County 3 It may have taken three years to come to fruition, but Ross County are now only four points away from promotion into the Second Division. Neale Cooper's man lost two goals to Cowdenbeath and were reduced to ten men when midfielder Roy McBain was red-carded late in the game, but they still finished the game 3-2 victors. Following Graeme Brown and Willie Stewart's goals, Neil Tarrant, watched by scouts from all over Britain, started the County comeback, pulling a goal back seven minutes before the interval. Wesley Mitchell's own-goal levelled and Ian Maxwell netted the winner midway through the second half. The fighting spirit impressed Cooper. "It was a very hard game and we did very well to come from 2-0 down," he said; "That is the first time that has happened to us. It was a test of character." Their nearest promotion rivals, Stenhousemuir, dropped vital points at Firs Park, as they fought out a 1-1 drew with East Stirlingshire. |
