Ross County 2 Montrose 1
Montrose skipper Colin McGlashan reckons county's winner never crossed the line--but he admitted his side didn't deserve a draw anyway.
County bagged the winner when Stuart Golabek almost scored with a long-range overhead kick, leaving Steve Ferguson to fire the keeper's half-clearance towards goal.
But McGlashan said: "I was 40 yards away and I was sure the ball hadn't crossed the line--and our keeper is Certain it didn't.
"But although we battled back we probably didn't create enough chances to deserve a draw." County No.2 Jim Kelly said: "The fact that our keeper Nicky Walker hardly had a save to make said everything about this game."
County's opener came when Derek Adams put Connor Campbell through and the tiny striker slotted the ball into the net.
But Montrose hit back when Innes MacDonald punished terrible slackness in the County defence.
