| Comments | Match Report Report by Alasdair Fraser for the Daily Record. Ross County 1 Cowdenbeath 0 Furious Neale Cooper yesterday ripped into the boo boys targeting County skipper Kenny Gilbert. Captain courageous Gilbert is risking his playing career by refusing to bow out of the club's promotion assault and Cooper rapped: "Kenny shouldn't even be playing right now given the state of his ankles. "He is putting himself at serious risk. To hear him being booed as he is announced as Man of the Match beggars belief. I have never seen a player anywhere give as much as Kenny. "It was only a small section of the crowd but Kenny is gutted about it all." Former Hull and Aberdeen midfielder Gilbert said: "It's hard to take when you knock your pan in for 90 minutes and then get a response like that. "But as long as the manager picks me and is happy with how I'm playing, I'm happy." Neil Tarrant hit the winner in 59 minutes with a header from a quickly-taken free-kick. Cowden gaffer Craig Levein said: "I was reasonably pleased but i think we are not reacting quickly enough to certain things." |
