| Comments | Match Report Report by Andrew Thomson for the BBC. Ross County 0 Dundee United 1 Dundee United closed the gap on second-placed Ross county in the Championship with a hard fought win in Dingwall. United were looking for revenge after being humiliated 5-1 when the sides last met at Tannadice. And Paul Watson managed to get on the end of a Fraser Aird free-kick to knock United ahead. County defender Liam Fontaine was stretchered off, and without him the hosts rallied but could not find an equaliser. Robbie Neilson's side are now just one point behind the Highlanders. Ross County's Stuart Kettlewell: "We definitely didn't deserve to lose the game, I think everybody here will know that. Our players gave it everything that they had today but it wasn't to be. "They came here and they got the points and we have to take that on the chin. We have to dust ourselves down, try not to get too wound up about it and be ready to go again next week." Dundee United's Robbie Neilson: "It was a top of the table game so they are always difficult, always tight, always decided on small moments and small details. Thankfully, our players stood up to the plate, defended extremely well when we had to, but also had the quality to finish the game. "You can see there is a togetherness between the players, the club and the fans, everyone together and you need that to win titles." |
