| Comments | Match Report Report from the BBC. Ross County 3 Saint Mirren 3 After Extra Time Win 4-3 on Penalties. Ross County claimed another Scottish Premier League scalp when they knocked St Mirren out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup after a penalty shootout. Darren McGregor's header gave the Buddies an undeserved half-time lead. Michael Gardyne blasted County level and Richard Brittain put the Division One side ahead from a free-kick. Michael Higdon's volley levelled and Paul McGowan's sharp finish put Saints ahead in extra time before Steven Craig prodded in to set up penalty kicks. Two penalty saves from Lee Mair and John Potter left Ross County goalkeeper Michael McGovern taking the plaudits. And last season's Scottish Cup finalists were not to be denied, with Iain Vigurs converting his penalty in the shoot-out along with Brittain, Paul Lawson and man of the match Gardyne. |
