Ross County 2 Airdrie United 2
Ross County last night blew the chance to take a three-point advantage inti next weekend's top of the table clash with St Mirren.
The Highlanders had turned around an early deficit by half-time at Victoria Park, but were floored by Willie McLaren's breakaway leveller.
County manager John Robertson said: "We didn't start very well, although we managed to get ourselves in front before half time. We dominated the second half from start to finish, but that's three games now we should have won comfortably.
"We'll just have to dust ourselves down and carry on. We've lost three sloppy goals in those games and it has cost us dear because we didn't take our chances at the other end."
County went behind with only eight minutes gone. Stephen McKeown's long pass caught County's central defensive pairing flat-footed. Ex-Derby County striker Gary Twigg charged free to calmly stick a shot low past goalkeeper Stuart Garden and into the corner of the net.
The Dingwall side came roaring back before half-time. After 36 minutes, Don Cowie's cross was touched on by David Winters in the box. As the ball bounced high near the six-yard line, John Rankin stabbed a volley past Airdrie's Stephen Robertson.
County went ahead two minutes before the break. Lionel Djebi-Zadi's ball from the left found Steve McGarry at the near post. McGarry hooked the ball back into the path of the oncoming Winters, who powered the ball into the net.
County looked in the mood as the second half opened, with Winters finding Cowie with a cross and his header glancing off the top of the bar. Then a Alex Burke effort was touched on to the bar by Robertson.
Then, in 73 minutes, Airdrie equalised. An Allan McManus free kick was flicked into the path of McLaren, who forced the ball past Garden.
