Ross County 0 Clyde 1
A shocking display from Ross County meant the Dingwall side slipped to third place in the First Division after former County midfielder Stephen O'Donnell scored the only goal of a drab encounter.
It was a good day all round for the Bully Wee, who discovered after the game they had been drawn at home to Celtic in the third round of the Scottish Cup.
County's caretaker manager Gardner Speirs was consoled with the news County are at home to Forfar Athletic in the cup, but the manner of the defeat to Clyde was hard to take.
He said: "We were lucky to go in at half-time just one goal down, but it got better in the second half.
"We intended to be a lot more direct and we were at times, but we just couldn't make the break-through. I thought our first-half performance was the reason why we lost the game. Credit to Clyde. They outfought and outplayed us. You can't deny them the win."
Clyde were on top from the start and they took the lead in the seventh minute when Alex Williams squared the ball to O'Donnell, who rammed it high into the net from 22 yards.
The Visitors almost doubled their lead a couple of minutes later when Tom Brighton's goal-bound shot was cleared off the line.
Then goalkeeper Stuart Garden was at full stretch to deny O'Donnell as Clyde kept the pressure on.
County first effort on goal came in the 38th minute. Lionel Djebi-Zadi was set free on the left and the Frenchman's low cross was flicked on at the near post by Alex Burke, but Clyde keeper Peter Cherrie turned his shot past for a corner.
Clyde made a positive start to the second half and Garden fumbled a Steven Masterson free kick before Jim Lauchlan stepped in to clear.
County almost snatched an equaliser when Cherrie was posted missing, but substitute Stuart Taylor's attempted shot bobbled past the wrong side of the upright.
