Ross County 1 Clyde 1
Martin Canning rescued a point for Ross County with a late header in a scrappy game against Clyde which was a big yawn up until the final few minutes.
County boss Neale Cooper was satisfied with a point after his sides disappointing display in the Highland derby last week.
He said: "At least we stopped the rot, the players were determined to get a result but I knew it would be a difficult match.
"The conditions didn't help, the wind was a nightmare. But there was a few good things that happened in the game, although I feel there is something missing at the moment.
"We created two or three good opportunities in the first half, but we were shooting from too far out but I thought we worked very hard and defended well."
County were without midfield duo Steve Ferguson, through injury, and the suspended Kenny Gilbert. Brian Irvine was restored to the back four with former Caley Thistle captain Mark McCulloch teamed with young Don Cowie in the middle of the park.
Clyde introduced new loan signings Colin Nish from Dunfermline and Steve McConalogue from Dundee United.
County were first to threaten when Steve MacKay whipped in a free kick from the right but keeper Bryn Halliwell rose well to take a clean catch.
The Bully Wee responded and Andy Millen was not far away with a lightening strike which just cleared Tony Bullock's bar.
Martin Wood, who was playing behind the front two of Alex Bone and Steve McGarry, was industrious early on and he started and ended a fast flowing move in the 12th minute but screwed his shot wide of target. Cowie created an opening for himself a couple of minutes later when he got on the end of a return pass from McGarry but he headed his effort straight into the arms of Halliwell from 10 yards.
In Clyde's best move of the first half, McConalogue failed to convert after Nish and Jack Ross combined to set up the chance but the half ended with another missed opportunity for County when Bone's effort came off the post and was booted off the goal line by defender John Potter.
McConalogue was guilty of another glaring miss in the 56th minute when he headed a Ross cross wide of Bullock's left hand post.
The visitors were defending en masse for long spells and County were finding it difficult to get near Halliwell's goal, resorting to long range efforts which failed to trouble the Clyde keeper.
The breakthrough finally came in the 84th minute following an Andy McClay corner.
The ball was cleared off the goal line by Canning but unfortunately for County the ball went straight to Ross who drilled it low and hard into the corner of the net from 25 yards.
County were on level terms three minutes later after Halliwell brilliantly tripped over a Hugh Robertson free kick.
From the corner, Wood fired the ball across goal and Canning bravely met it in amongst a ruck of players to head high into the net.
Clyde manager Alan Keraghan said: "Soon as we get a goal we seemed to go to sleep, I just think its a mental thing. We have a lot of ability but we need more heart and show more aggression but I'm happy with a point because I thought we played better the week before and lost.
