| Comments | Match Report Report from the Daily Record. Albion Rovers 0 Ross County 8 Neil Tarrant bagged a hat-trick but went home without the traditional souvenir...because hard-up Rovers refused to give him the match ball. The 19-year-old former Darlington striker said: "It's disappointing that I didn't get the Ball because this is my first hat-trick, but hopefully there will be plenty more in my career. "If they don't want to give me the ball, it's their decision. I can't force them." Steve Ferguson could have had a hat-trick, too, but missing a penalty and had to content himself with a double. The other goals in the rout came from David Ross, Frank Escalon and Roy McBain. There was never a dull moment, with action galore on the field and the rival management teams engaging in a war of words off it. To complete a miserable day for Rovers, keeper Mark McLean was sent off near the end for handling outside the penalty box. It was County's biggest win since joining the Scottish League and manager Neale Cooper was delighted with his side. He said: "I told the lads to go out and work hard and they got what they deserved. "A win like that could become embarrassing but you can't afford to feel sorry for teams in this league--they wouldn't do it for you." |
