Berwick Rangers 0 Ross County 2
Two goals from Derek Adams made it five out of five for league leaders Ross County.
Now County boss Neale Cooper is trying to figure out how to stop the goal grabber being snapped up by a bigger club.
The former Aberdeen hero said: "Derek had another outstanding game and I just don't know how long we will be able to hang on to him.
"He is a part-timer and he is attracting the attention of a number of other clubs. In fact, we have already had more than one firm offer."
Berwick frustrated the league leaders until Adams broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half.
He picked up a rebound after Berwick keeper Gary O'Connor had denied former Ranger Frank Escalon then rifled home a superb shot .
Adams sealed victory three minutes from time, getting down to nod home a cross from Murray Hunter after the sub's effort rebounded from the bar.
Cooper singled out O'Connor for praised after the keeper saved Berwick from a mauling.
He said: "We really dominated the game and might have had, at least, five goals.
"The Berwick keeper made four or five first-class saves, which meant they were in it until near the end when we got the second."
But Cooper isn't getting complacent despite the promising display.
The Ross boss said: "We may have won five out of five and be living up to the tag of the pre-season favourites but we are not getting carried away.
"There's still a long, long way to go--it's early days yet."
Berwick boss Paul Smith--who was sent to the stand after challenging a decision by ref Kevin Toner--signed trialist Innes Ritchie after the final whistle.
The 25-year-old, who was previously with East Fife and Motherwell, had been interesting Stirling Albion but Smith offered him a three-month contract.
Smith is now hunting for another midfielder but admitted: "Money is a problem. One Unibond League player I was interested in is getting wages 10 times more than our boys' average."
County keeper Nicky Walker generally had little to do, although he did have to look lively twice to save from Ritchie.
