| Comments | March Report Report by Graham Dougan for the Daily Record. Montrose 2 Ross County 3 Volunteer keeper Craig Tully was Ross County's hero with a spectacular penalty save--in his first game between the sticks. Tully came to the rescue of the champions who were without regular first-team keeper Nicky Walker and second choice Garry Stewart. The stand-in turned in a faultless display and brilliantly blocked Michael Craig's second-half spot-kick to keep his side 2-1 up. He said: "Overall I thought I did fairly well considering it was my first experience in goal. I volunteered because we were desperate and I was actually looking forward to it. "I wasn't nervous at all. There was no pressure on me and nobody expected anything. "At the penalty I managed to guess correctly but I was quite confident about saving it. Michael had a wee look at the corner in his run-up so I just decided to dive that way." Tully, who normally plays in central defence, added: "You'll have to ask the gaffer where I'm playing next week." County's goal's came from Davie Ross (2) and John McGlashan, while Scott Taylor and Kevin Magee got the home side's goals. Montrose boss Kevin Drinkell said: "We clearly don't have the mentality to win games and now we're finding new ways to lose them. It's obvious we need new players." |
