| Comments | Match Report Report by Alison Jenkins for the Daily Record. Livingston 2 Ross County 1 An hour before the kick-off George Wright was told he wasn't playing--an hour later he set up the winner that took Livingston to within a whisker of promotion. He had a hard job persuading boss Jim Leishman he was fit after last week's horror injury against East Stirling that left his arms and hands paralysed. Wright admitted: "I had a complete loss of feeling for two or three hours. "The manager was worried about me taking another knock, but I eventually convinced him I should play." Livvy need just two points to secure Second Division football. Kona Hislop, brother of Newcastle keeper Shaka, showed pace and promise in his first game. Like Wright, he is signed to the end of the season but would be a great asset if Livvy go up. Stevie Campbell fired them into the lead with a 22nd minute penalty but Colin Milne levelled from the spot in 36 minutes. County keeper Stevie Hutchison brought off two brilliant saves from Jason young headers, But he couldn't stop one from Chris Sinclair in the 65th minute after Wright set him up with a well-timed cross. Leishman said: "We are not guaranteed promotion yet, but this result helps." Hislop beamed: "I just hope Livingston can win the championship and it would be great in our household if Newcastle win the English title as well." Boss Bobby Wilson admitted County's promotion chances were all but gone, but insisted: "You've got to keep yourself in with a shout." |
