Report from the Press & Journal.
Deveronvale 1 Ross County 4
Deveronvale manager Neil McLennan will be keeping his fingers crossed for experienced former Huntly and Keith defender Jim Watson this morning.
Watson (32), who was stretchered off just before half-time with a suspected broken leg. will have his injury assessed at hospital this morning.
"We're looking at playing the rest of the season without Jim because even though the leg probably isn't broken, the injury is probably going to be serious.
In terms of Saturday's game alone it was a disaster because we were already down to 10 men after Mark Strachan was sent off midway through the first half."
Gary ROSS fired County in front after a minute. Vale responded to Strachan's dismissal with a great equaliser from Jim FELBER in 35 minutes, but Craig REID hit back imediately to send County in at half-time leading 2-1.
Five minutes into the second half, ROSS struck again to put County 3-1 ahead--a lead which would have been stretched from the penalty spot but for a brilliant save from Stuart Fraser, who denied Ross his hat-trick.
The Press and Journal Highland League top scorer Brian GRANT rounded off County's 4-1 win with his 28th goal of the season in 72 minutes, leaving manager Bobby Wilson well satisfied.
He said: "The score line could have been more emphatic because we were knocking the ball around really well for most of the game and we didn't make the most of the chances we created."
