Ross County were knocked off the top of the Scottish Championship table by Highland rivals Inverness after an uninspiring goalless draw away to Queen of the South.
Queen's striker Stephen Dobbie had scored 20 goals in all competitions already this season, and looked the most likely to find the net.
The 35 year old cracked the crossbar eight minutes before half-time when clean through on goal.
Dobbie had been the provider early on.
He slipped the ball through to Lyndon Dykes only for the Australian's shot to be met with a good save from County keeper Scott Fox.
Queens continued the pressure and Dykes was denied again by Fox on the half hour mark as Queen's sought reward for their dominance.
County's best chance came in the second half from a cross, but Michael Gardyne headed over the crossbar. The Staggies surrendered the Championship lead while Queen's are now three without defeat.
Queen of the South manager Gary Naysmith: "I thought it was two evenly matched teams, we probably shaded it the first half, definitely in terms of half chances. Lyndon has had a decent chance and Dobbie has hit the bar.
"So we definitely deserved a point and I think maybe that was the right result"
Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell: "[I'm a] little bit disappointed in our performance today and I think the players are as well. We didn't feel as though we got going at all as an attacking threat, there was no flow to our game.
"If we're being brutally honest I think a draw is maybe a fair result."
