Huntly 0 Ross County 3
Ross County have ended their goalkeeper search by signing ex-Livingston player Ian McCaldon. Jergus Tiernan is poised to follow suit.
County boss John Robertson played with 30-year-old McCaldon for two years when they were both at Livi. McCaldon replaces Colin Stewart between the posts at Victoria Park.
Tiernan, who spent the second half of the season with County after leaving Aberdeen, is on the verge oe re-signing for the club, having left Victora Park at the end of last season.
Robertson said: "Everything is all tied up with Fergus and now it is just a case of dotting the I's and crossing the T's. I am confident we will get that done very shortly."
McCaldon did not feature in last night's 3-0 friendly against Huntly at Christie Park.
David Winters scored early on for the Dingwall men after a quick counter-attack.
Plat moved swiftly from one end to the other, with Huntly's Richie Taylor pulling off a fine save from Stuart Garden with a 25-yard drive, then when the visitors broke quickly, Steven McGarry cut the ball back for Adam Moffat to send a fierce drive narrowly over the bar.
With 40 minutes gone, County made it 2-0, Mark McCulloch getting the final touch on a free kick to score.
Huntly were shaping up well in the second half and put their SFL visitors under pressure, but they got caught out in the 79th minute. A long through ball was collected by McGarry and he beat Richard Bowman with ease to complete the scoring.
