| Comments | Match Report Report by John Hoey for the Daily Record. Brechin City 1 Ross County 2 SEAN HIGGINS fired a double last night to extend Ross County's lead in Division Two to 13 points. Derek Adams' side got off to a dream start when they took the lead after only 50 seconds. Dene Shields played a ball through the middle and, with the City defence standing still, Higgins was allowed time to blast home from 10 yards. Brechin fought hard to get level and in 28 minutes Michael Paton volleyed just over the bar. Six minutes later their pressure paid off when Paton forced the ball over the line after a Scott Walker header had come back off the bar. Craig Nelson had to look sharp to keep out a Higgins drive in the 48th minute but the midfielder got his reward soon after when he slotted home an Andy Barrowman cross . Allan Creer pulled off a great save from Darren Smith as City pressed again. Smith then had the ball in the net but was clearly in an offside position before Walker headed another Brechin chance over. |
