Derek Adams' side secured promotion and the championship with their win at Victoria Park as nearest rivals Airdrie United lost at Brechin City. Dene Shields poked in from close range and Andy Barrowman shot home from a tight angle before adding a penalty. Paul Lawson completed the scoring and the home fans went wild with delight when hearing news of Airdrie's defeat. "It's a wonderful day for the club and all our supporters," chairman Roy McGregor told BBC Sport. "It was a disappointment to go down last year but we've bounced straight back. "Congratulations to Dick Campbell for getting the ball rolling and to Derek Adams for finishing it off. "With a full-time set-up we need to be in the First Division.
