| Comments | Match Report Report from the BBC. Challenge Cup Semi-Final. Ross County 4 Albion Rovers 1 Sean Higgins grabbed a double as Ross County denied Albion Rovers a place in the Challenge Cup final against Clyde. A Don Cowie drive was cleared off the line by two defenders, but Higgins was there to pass the ball home. Higgins turned in a Derek Adams corner before Andy Dowie gave the Third Division side hope by turning a Martin McBride cross into his own net. But Craig Gunn bundled in a third and was then pulled down in the box. Kevin McKinlay scored from the penalty spot. It will be First Division County's second Challenge Cup final in three seasons. But it will be Scott Leitch's first as manager. "The boys were absolutely magnificent from start to finish," he told BBC Sport. "I thought we were always in control and I'm absolutely delighted for them. "We've done very well to score four goals in a very entertaining game." |
