| Comments | Match Report Report from the Press & Journal. Ross County 0 Queen of the South 3 Ross County failed to increase their lead on fellow First Division strugglers Alloa after a sloppy show at Victoria Park. Alex Smith's side fell to its fifth successive league defeat and now faces a nervy defeat and now faces a nervy run-in with the game against the Wasps at Recreation Park in three weeks taking on added significance. Smith admitted: "There's not a lot to say, apart from the fact we were awful. That's probably the worst we have played since I came here. "Even with the wind behind us in the first half we had difficulty in controlling our passing. "We shot ourselves in the foot with first goal, the second goal was a disaster. the third goal was also conceded too easily. "We changed it a little bit at half time and got 15 minutes of reasonable play and created a couple of half chances." The Doonhamers made the breakthrough in the 40th minute when Mark McCulloch lost possession inside the area and O'Neill pounced to score from eight yards. Substitute Sean O'Connor doubled his side's lead in the 73rd minute. It was all over as a contest seven minutes later when man 0f the match Bowey drilled a dangerous ball across the face of the County goal and the hapless Steve MacKay could only help the ball into the net. |
