Ross County 3 Buckie Thistle 4

On Saturday, when County "swept into the lead in the 20th minute, it seemed nothing could stand in their way of another victory. How wrong everyone was, and how quickly fortunes can change! The home side opened with great confidence, and were swinging the ball about easily and with deadly effect. Then in the 20th minute, Billy Ferries flicked on a ball into the penalty area — almost on the spot — and as quick as a flash Macdonald was on to it, and whipped it home first time.
In the 24th, 29th and 40th minutes, however, Buckie Thistle set their seal on the game in a series of cross and dead-ball situations, with which the home defence and keeper Suttar have still to come to terms.
In the 24th minute, midfield player Macpherson, who had just recovered from a knock, crossed a ball to the far post, where centre forward Nicol simply rose above his opponents and directed a powerful header high into the net.
Five minutes later, another cross ball was headed on by Anderson to Nicol, to Morland, the full-back completing the action with another headed goal.
With five minutes of the halt remaining, Morland hit a free kick to the edge of the box. The ball was headed on to Nicol, who scored with a strong rising shot.
As the half closed, Ross County were trying desperately to retrieve the situation. Ferries came close with a shot, which was brilliantly pushed out by keeper Innes.
County received just reward for their second half pressure in the 68th minute, when Scott Lemmon scored another brilliantly taken goal with a header from an Albert Allan cross.
Alas within another minute, it was status quo, as Buckie broke a County attack and launched one of their own with Nicol breaking through the middle, unchallenged almost, and, nothing Suttar off his line and advancing, simply lobbed him.
County now began to attack with more composure and directness. They were finding their men more easily, but time was running out. Then with a minute to go, David Macrae took a ball from Allan in his stride and hit home a consolation counter.
