Fort William 0 Ross County 5

ROSS COUNTY fully deserved their 5-0 win at Fort William on Saturday. They were never really troubled by their opponents in the first round of the McEwan’s Lager North of Scotland Cup competition. However, their next round adversaries, at Lossiemouth, should prove a more difficult hurdle to take.
David Jackson opened the scoring in the 15th minute, when he cracked home a Scott Lemmon header from an Albert Allan corner.
Nero Macdonald scored the second in the 40th minute, when he outjumped his opponent to reach a Jackson cross.
In the second half, Fort William rallied for a time, but their attacks were methodically quelled by the County defence.
In the 77th minute, full back Scott Lemmon took a cross from Macdonald and crashed it home from 15 yards.
When the Fort defence hesitated in the 86th minute, Cammie Robertson came storming up to score with a great shot. With a minute to go, a drive from Albert Allan was deflected past his own keeper by Murphy.
Billy Ferries was selected as “Man of the Match”.
