Caledonian FC 3 Ross County 0

Macdonald on mark for Caley. A new-look Ross County were overcome this afternoon at Telford Street Park by a lively Caley, who were well served by hot-shots Ally Macdonald and Alan Hercher.
Ross County threatened the Caley back four from the kick-off and almost took the lead in four minutes. Ferries made space on the right and fired over a cross which Davie Jackson met with his head. His effort shaved the right-hand post with Morrison beaten.
However, Caley came back into it and might have scored in the 25th minute following a move started and finished by Alan Hercher.
He held the ball well inside his own half and sent a great pass to the right side for fullback Roddy Davidson. Davidson picked out Ally McDonald on the right of the County box and he fired over a right-foot cross which Hercher met with his head, but John Suttar saved easily.
Caley took the lead six minutes into the second half with the Ross defence caught completely square.
As the Ross rearguard advanced, Kevin Mann sent a brilliant ball through to Alex MACDONALD, who took his time before slotting the ball past Suttar.
Then five minutes later, the home side went two up when the County defence were again slack. Docherty did well on the right side of the box and managed to find MacDonald on the line. He cut the ball across the face of the box, and it broke to Alan HERCHER, who rattled it into the net.
Alex MACDONALD grabbed his second goal of the match in 74 minutes when he latched on to a through ball from Alan Hercher and fired a left-foot shot past Suttar.
