| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Buckie Thistle 2 Ross County 1 ON THE last occasion that Ross County visited Buckie, they were defeated 5-0 in a cup competition. Last Saturday, they were defeated again in the League, but not by such a decisive score. The result should provide them with some encouragement for this week’s McEwan’s Lager North Cup Final against Inverness Thistle at Caley Park. At Buckie, County opened the scoring in the second minute when Gary Robertson broke clear on the left and delivered a good cross, which was knocked home by Billy Ferries. As Buckie fought back into the game, a header from Barclay following a corner by Masson went inches over the bar, and a drive from Yule, which had Suttar beaten, rebounded off the inside of the post. The home club leveled the scores in the 36th minute when Brown coolly collected a pass from Macpherson inside the box and scored. Five minutes before half-time, Whyte crossed a high ball to the far post, and Yule scored what proved to be the winner with a diving header. |
