| Match Report | Report from the Green Final. Ross County 2 Deveronvale 2 County took the lead in the fifth minute when centre-forward Gary Robertson and Connelly combined for Robertson to score easily. The pair combined again, but reversed roles when Connelly found the net to put County two goals ahead after Clark parried his first attempt. Two minutes before halftime, Vale got what they deserved with a thunderbolt from centre-half Eric Shearer, who smashed a loose ball past a helpless keeper from all of 25 yards. Gair was forced to concede a corner, but right-back Beattie shot high over the bar from Montgomery's flag kick. Vale almost drew level when a Montgomery shot took a deflection and had keeper Suttar scrambling across the goal to make a save. But the goal was only delayed. Two minutes before halftime, Vale got what they deserved with a thunderbolt from centre-half Eric Shearer, who smashed a loose ball past a helpless keeper from all of 25 yards. Vale resumed with a flourish, and only a brilliant diving save by Suttar from a Duguld shot kept County's slender lead intact. Connelly was booked for dissent as Vale continued to dictate. Additional scorer: Deveronvale, Macdonald (83rd minute, penalty). |
