| Match Report | Report from the Inverness Courier. Caledonian FC 1 Ross County 3 A large crowd turned out on Saturday evening at Telford Street Park and witnessed a very exciting game. Caledonian were under strength without Bolt and Mackinnon, and the County's strong, forceful tactics had the Inverness team all at sea. Urquhart opened the scoring for the County in 15 minutes, and from a scramble, E. Fraser reduced the County's lead with a fine drive after 30 minutes, and there was no further scoring before time. The County continued their strong pressure, and Urquhart, on the left wing, delighted the Ross-shire supporters with his dribbling. It was from one of his corners that Thain headed home a third goal for the County. Caledonian tried hard to recover, but Patience, at centre-half for the visitors, was a stumbling block, and Sutherland was forcing the play to the home goal. Macbeath, of Caledonian, did not receive much of the ball, but put over some fine crosses when given it. Galloway, at centre-half for the Caledonian, was well supported by his wing halves, but neither of the backs, Urquhart and Mackenzie, seemed too steady. J. Fraser was the best forward for the home team. All the Ross-shire men played well, individually and collectively. |
