| Match Report | Report From the Ross-shire Journal. Ross County 4 Caledonian FC 2 In the second leg of the Stuart Cup at Dingwall, on Wednesday, Ross County started with a four-one deficit against Caledonian (Inverness). Both teams, at full strength, did not impress in the goal-less first half. The second half, however, was not long gone, when Ogilvie, for County, secured the first goal. This goal changed the whole aspect of the game, introducing livelier football, and harder exchanges. Tommy Urquhart, on County extreme left in this form, a real top-notcher, added another two before Macmahon (a Dingwall boy) gave Caley a break. At three-one, County were a good betting proposition, but Sutherland, Caley right winger, stole another point, and the fat was in the fire. Exchanges became rather fierce, and still more so when Urquhart secured his hat-trick, to make the score four-two in the County's favour. Here to the end it was all County, but Caley had their proverbial luckāand good players. The attention to the referee by the spectators was an uncalled-for effort by a few over-enthusiastic supporters. |
