Inverness Clachnacuddin, 3 Ross County 2

A great last-minute goal by Maclennan, the Inverness inside left, gave Clachnacuddin the decision in their semi-final North cup-tie with Ross County at Grant Street Park, on Saturday. A draw would have been a better result.
The County's first—the only first-half goal—was scored by Bonney, the Clachnacuddin right back, who deflected a loose ball past his keeper after twelve minutes' play. Play was evenly divided for the remainder of the period, but only brilliant work by Sylwyn, the County keeper, prevented the Invernessians from getting on level terms. The second half was played at a fast pace and the County generally held the upper hand. Fourteen minutes after the interval the Grant Street team got a penalty decision. Baxter converted. Shortly afterwards Munro landed a lob in the goalmouth, and although Sylwyn collected, the ball was held to be over the line with Roy in attendance.
The last fifteen minutes produced the best football. After Dennison got the equaliser from a pass from Macbeth, both goals ran a series of narrow escapes. Then came Maclennan's brilliant last-minute winner. The home wing halves played well throughout, and Maclean was outstanding. Roy and Munro took the honours in the home attack.
The County left wing was the strongest division in their team. Coulthart distributed the ball well at centre-half, and he was well supported by Urquhart. Behind them Sylwyn, the keeper, and Hazel, the left back, were strong in defence.
