Keith 1 Ross County 2

Ross County defeated Keith for the second week in succession, and at Keith as well. The result was 2-1 in their favour. At Dingwall the previous Saturday, the result was 4-3 for the County.
The hero of the game was Singer, the Keith goalkeeper, who kept a splendid goal and had several brilliant saves to his credit, although on occasions he was fortunate. Ross County were the more vigorous side, but they threw away many chances of scoring. Play, however, was never of a high standard. The Keith players never struck their true form and their passes were often very erratic, the ball going too often to the wrong man.
Keith started off promisingly, but County soon got going and kept the home defence working at full pressure. The latter stood up well and repelled raid after raid. Even so, County had innumerable chances to open their account. They were too often caught offside. Keith, when they did get a chance, were more convincing finishers, but the Ross County defence was also sound, Urquhart and Ross playing confidently. It was against the run of play when, following a goalmouth scrimmage, Cowie opened Keith's account. From the re-centre, County nearly equalised.
Crossing over, Ross County hammered the home goal without effect. Then Keith had a look-in, but soon fell away again, and Mackay got the long-overdue equaliser. Then Tarrell gave County the winner. The Keith men, except Hay and Singer, did not play up to standard. For Ross County, Ross, Tarrell, Urquhart and Bowie were best.
