Peterhead 3 Ross County 1

A weak Ross County team travelled to Peterhead and were soundly defeated by 3 goals to 1, and but for a magnificent display of goalkeeping by P. Mackay, Peterhead’s win would have been more decisive.
It was not a great game. Peterhead were superior from the start, and it was only their feebleness in front of goal that kept them from scoring. The home halves dominated the game, but the forwards did not respond. Against the run of play, J. A. Mackay, from a breakaway, put his side one up, which was the score at halftime.
Peterhead again took up the attack on resuming and got no more than they deserved when Emslie scored from a well-judged pass by Wiseman. Once having tasted blood, Peterhead took the game in hand, and Anderson and Urquhart had a hectic time. Mackay in goal defied all attempts until near the end, when he was twice in succession beaten by Emslie, who at centre was the best forward on the field. Although their success was delayed, the home club should have won by a larger margin.
