| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Buckie Thistle 2 Ross County 3 Ross County returned what may be termed a brilliant result on Saturday when they beat Buckie by the odd goal in five in a game which was remarkable for the number of goals disallowed. In the opening minutes, a good goal by Cowie put a hopeful complexion on the Highlanders' prospects. Mackintosh got the equaliser, but again County went ahead through Macpherson, who deputised for Aird at centre. Buckie were disallowed a goal scored by Maclennan and awarded a penalty, which the same player failed to convert. However, a few minutes later he made amends by beating Brett. Buckie had the major portion of the game, and after another goal had been struck off by the referee, the spectators let that official know their displeasure. Fifteen minutes from the end, Macpherson got clean away on his own and put County in the lead again, which they retained until the end. |
