| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Fraserburgh 4 Ross County 1 Ross County fell to Fraserburgh on Saturday by four goals to one. County did not make a good start and Fraserburgh overran them in the first half, leading three-one. In the second period, however, the County put up a stiff fight and although they could not reduce the Broch lead, they gave as good as they got. Urquhart and Ramage were the outstanding Dingwall players, with Scott giving a good account of himself against his old teammates. Glass, who took Aird’s place at centre forward, did exceptionally well. Nearly always beaten in the air, he was, however, clever with the ball on the ground and opened up the game splendidly. One good forward in the second half probably would have pulled the game to a draw for County. As it was, the shooting was woefully weak, with the forwards trying to walk the ball into the net instead of shooting. Ramage, with one of his characteristic drives, secured the only County point, while Simpson, Duncan, Bain, and Grant scored for Fraserburgh. |
