| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Buckie Thistle 1 Ross County 1 Ross County’s game at Buckie on Saturday was a heroic fight on the part of the Highlanders. They held the strong-going Fishers to a one-goal lead until seventy minutes of the game had elapsed. Before leaving Dingwall, the goalkeeper position was in doubt, and it was only when Grey, their first-choice goalkeeper, was picked up at Muir of Ord that the team was brought up to full strength. The County played a strong, forcing game, and with only a quarter of an hour gone, Aird scored. Grey’s goal was hotly bombarded from then onwards, but the Ross-shire halves, backs, and goalkeeper were in rampant form and stood up under terrific pressure with great courage and zeal. Grey in goal was particularly prominent, and if at times his goal had a charmed life, his skilful play deserved it. With the equalising goal coming, the County packed their goal and held out until the end. Taking one point away from Buckie at Buckie is an achievement to be proud of and a really good send-off for the New Year. |
