| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal Ross County 0 Inverness Thistle 1 On Wednesday evening, on Victoria Park, Dingwall, they entertained Inverness Thistle, and seemed on course for victory, following a sparkling first half display, in which they made all the running on the heavy dew-soaked pitch, but unfortunately all their good work could not be turned into goals, try as they might. Time after time, they split the Inverness Thistle defence, and time after time, a good save or a feckless shot at goal was the outcome. Their display was inspiring and warming to their fans, but came the second half, and despite holding the initiative with continuing attacks on their opponents’ goal, it was Thistle who broke away in the 58th minute, and landed the sucker-punch. With County playing upfield on one of many raids prompted by Chris Somerville, Thistle broke down the left, and substitute Clark lofted a ball to the far post, where Noble headed it past the keeper. Early in the game, Thistle lost the services of their left winger Charlesworth, who received a nasty leg knock in a tackle. County must find a marksman to finish off the good outfield work. |
