| Match Report | Report rom the Inverness Courier. Caledonian FC 1 Ross County 0 Ross County, still smarting from an undeservedly heavy defeat from Inverness Thistle last week seemed keen to extract revenge when they took the field against Caley, and soon had them pinned back in their own heavily-sanded half. Their penetration was poor, though, and for all their bluster they did not - bring a save out of Hamish Morrison in the home goal. There was certainly ‘lots of crisp, short passing, but late interceptions and sharp tackling meant the ball seldom emerged in either penalty area. It was inevitable someone would break free and in 26 minutes a Docherty long ball released Robertson who carried the ball almost to the touchline before scoring from a tight angle. How County would appreciate such finishing. Even when they do get chances, like that which fell to Wilson three minutes later, they only waste them. There was to be no more goals, the Caley winger’s single strike proving sufficient to lift the points. |
