Deveronvale 2 Ross County 3 ROSS COUNTY kept on course for their best Highland League season in many a year, with another good 3-2 win at Banff on Saturday. Donald Mackay opened the scoring in the second minute, when he drove the ball high into the net from inside the box. The linesman had flagged for offside, but after discussion with the referee the goal stood. In the 41st minute, County went two up when Nero Macdonald shot home from close range. Deveronvale reduced the deficit in the 66th minute, when Nicol scored, but four minutes later Dave Jackson shot a great goal from all of 18 yards. However, the home side fought back and in the 75th minute, G. Macdonald scored with a volley. Deveronvale were reduced to ten men in the closing minutes, when Morrison was sent off for aiming a punch at Mackay. |
