| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Inverness Thistle 3 Ross County 2 At Inverness on Saturday, Ross County opened the scoring against Thistle in the 24th minute, when Donald Mackay intercepted a crossfield pass from Thistle’s Stevenson and ran in to score. Shortly afterwards, Stevenson fell awkwardly and was taken to hospital with a broken collarbone. In the 36th minute, Thistle equalised when Macdonald sent Bain clear, and though Suttar parried his shot, the latter followed up to nod home the rebound. County struck back in the 40th minute, when with Thistle’s defence caught square, James Mackay ran in and coolly slotted the ball past keeper Calder. Three minutes later it was level-pegging again, when Maclean crashed the ball high into the net. Thistle’s victory came from the penalty spot when Bain was brought down in the box, and Skinner scored in the 62nd minute. |
