Ross County 1 Caledonian FC 2

In their first round re-played tie at Dingwall last night, Caledonian returned home winners. On Wednesday, Caledonian won 3-1 at Dingwall, but as the County had won the first game at Inverness on Saturday by the same margin, extra time had to be played. Each side managed to record one corner, and as Caledonian lost the toss for choice of ground for the replay, they had to return last night to Dingwall, where they opened the scoring through centre-forward Mackenzie, after J. Fraser had flicked a high ball into the goalmouth. This goal came in the 16th minute. In the 29th minute, Macbeath increased Caledonian's lead after a pass from Mackenzie. Half-time came with Caledonian leading by two goals to nil, and during the first half the 2000-odd crowd were kept amused by a stray sheep which persisted in remaining on the field. The second half proved a very drab affair, excepting for the last 20 minutes, when Patience, the County centre-half, scored a grand goal, which he headed into the net from a corner by Urquhart. Full time came with Ross County striving hard for the equalising goal, but centre-half Mackinnon was a stumbling block in the Caledonian defence. Caledonian played practically all the second half without Davidson, left back, who retired before half-time injured.
