Keith 4 Ross County 1

Ross County’s third round game in the Qualifying Cup against Keith, on the latter's ground, on Saturday, saw the Ross team’s elimination from the contest, with an adverse score of 4-1. It was County’s second rebuff in two weeks, and like their previous game, with Peterhead at Dingwall, the first half was fairly even, with the score standing at 1-0 for the homesters. Morrison was the marksman. A water-logged pitch was a severe handicap to good football, and made conditions anything but pleasant for the players. However, Keith evidently made the most of their opportunities in the second half. A sound defence prevented repeated County attacks bearing fruit, and very soon the home men opened the scoring again through J. Cowie. County were not taking things lying down, and their raids were always dangerous. Two corners were forced in quick succession, and from the second, Ferguson headed in the ball. After this it was all Keith, Cowie landing his side’s fourth goal. Keith deserved their victory.
