Match Report	Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Caledonian FC 1 Ross County 2 Within six days, Ross County had to play no fewer than three ties in the Morganti or Highland League Cup competition. Two of these they won, but the third, played on Wednesday evening, was too much for them and they made their exit from the competition, defeated but not dismayed, the aggregate score against them being 4-2. Following up their 4-1 defeat of Inverness Thistle in the first leg of the first round, they also won the return match, which was again played at Dingwall owing to the Thistle having no ground of their own meantime. On this second occasion they prevailed by 2 goals to 0, passing into the second round with an aggregate of 6-1. Two days later, Saturday, they opposed Caledonian at Telford Street in the second round. The team which represented the County was:—Newton; Spence and D. Forsyth; J. Macdonald, A. Forsyth and Thain; Macbeth and Clark, Ogilvie, Ferguson and Urquhart. The County won by 2 goals to 1, and on the whole they were worthy winners. They lasted the pace better and were more dangerous in front of goal. All the scoring was done in the second half. The first went to the home team, Willox, the Caledonian centre-forward, doing the needful. Undisturbed by this set-back, Ross County attacked methodically and ultimately they were awarded a penalty. Ferguson, who was full of dash and craft—indeed the best forward on the field—made sure with his spot kick. Both teams struggled for a lead and both teams pressed in turn, without result, until Urquhart counted for the visitors with an unsaveable shot. This was followed by a penalty kick for the home team, but Armstrong failed to convert. This encouraged Ross County who, till the end, had the better of matters, although there was no further scoring. Result —Ross County, 2; Caledonian, 1.
