Lossiemouth 0 Ross County 1

A Series of miniature Hampden roars from Lossie supporters, trying to infuse some much-needed spirit into their team, were of little use in this drab league encounter at Grant Park. County were on top throughout, and streets ahead of the homesters, who appeared to spend the entire ninety minutes doing the work which the ball should have done.
A simple goal by inside-left Ferguson after a quarter of an hour was the only tangible sign of a Ross victory, but only bad luck and the prevalence of "goalmouth hysteria" among the Dingwall forwards prevented a complete rout—something which, on this display, Lossie would have thoroughly deserved. The visitors' leading-up work was a positive delight, and although their wing-halves gave their Lossie counterparts a lesson in distribution, it was in attack that lay the main difference between the teams. Wingers Ogilvie and Urquhart were outstanding. The stars in a disappointing home team were Lowden, Kellas and Harding.
