| Match Report | Report from the Inverness Courier. Inverness Thistle 4 Ross County 2 Thistle secured an easy victory over Ross County on Saturday, beating them by four goals to two, in a North of Scotland League tie staged at Inverness. Play was not exciting in the first half, with Ross County leading by one goal at half-time. Ross County showed more vigour and determination in their attacks, and several good tries were made by Maclennan, outside right, and Ogilvie, inside right, without success. The visitors for a period became forceful and scored their first goal through Forsyth, inside right, but Thistle were not disheartened and soon registered the equaliser through Main, centre-forward. A goal by Rory gave them the lead at half-time. Early in the second period Thistle missed grand chances of adding to their score, while, on the other hand, Ross County were always dangerous. Combined play by Thistle in which Lawson, Mackay and Jamieson shone, brought out good defensive work by Thorpe (in goal), Spence, Peterson and Forsyth, of the opposing team. Thistle were now on the defensive strongly, and soon added two more goals to their score through Main (2) and [name unclear]. The score at the close of the game was four goals for Thistle against Ross County's two. |
