Elgin City 2 Ross County 2 In the second leg of the first round of the North of Scotland Cup competition at Elgin on Saturday, Ross County proved that their victory over Elgin City at Dingwall was not a chance one. They had most of the play in the second game, although a draw was the result. Ross County pass into the second round with an aggregate of 8 goals to 4. Apart from the first ten minutes, when they missed two good scoring chances, the City were seldom in the picture. Ross County were the better side in all departments and their team work paid in the end. Elgin were lucky to share four goals. Their forwards are inclined to overdo the fancy work. Cargill and McHardy were their best forwards, and Kellas and Ralph were sound defenders, but had too much to do. Elgin opened their account through McHardy, but a few minutes later, Griffin equalised and Hunter headed a second soon afterwards. In a poor second half Elgin drew level through McHardy.
