Ross County 0 Inverness Clachnacuddin 0

This first leg in the semi-final round was played at Dingwall on Saturday.
A strong wind which blew diagonally across the field completely ruined what had been anticipated was to have been a good display. Most of the play was confined to one side of the field, and neither team seemed able to control the ball with the wind, and on innumerable occasions the ball beat the man. By-kicks were the order of the day, as well as corners, and here again these were of little value, thanks to the wind.
Winning the toss, Clach selected the assistance of the elements. It did not prove the advantage expected. From the start Ross County attacked and for twenty minutes they applied strong pressure. Ferguson had a good scoring chance but somehow McDougall got in the way. Jenkins also had a good try but without success. Even McGrory had a great run up the field only to be baulked at the last minute.
The Clach, recovering, then had a spell of attack. There were several dangerous runs, but Newton had little difficulty stopping anything that came his way. Unfortunately Robertson pulled a muscle and went to outside right, where he limped till half-time. With the wind behind them and their opponents a man short, Ross County had by far the most of the play in the second half. They played good football; indeed they did everything but score. McDougall refused to be beat and he had some saves bordering on the miraculous. Towards the end Clach did put up a show and forced two corners, which were easily cleared.
It was Clach's lucky day, and in addition McDougall could do nothing wrong. The second leg takes place at Grant Street to-morrow (Saturday). Ross County on last Saturday's display have every reason to be confident.
