Inverness Thistle 3 Ross County 1

Inverness Thistle on Thursday last gave Ross County a real thrashing. The score of 3-1 against the County does not indicate the extent of County's inferiority, but that is due to the splendid goalkeeping of first Mackenzie, and then Forsyth (who took Mackenzie's place when he received a severe injury to his hand) in goal. County opened the scoring through Macmahon, but that was their only real effort.
Once Thistle got on top, there was only the one team. County's defence, so good in the previous Saturday's game, were rattled and had no come-back.
Robertson equalised for Thistle, and before half time, Gillies gave them the lead. The second half was all Thistle. Mackenzie, just on half-time, after many marvellous saves, injured his hand and had to be taken to hospital. Forsyth, donning the yellow jersey, was the only bright spot in the game—as far as a County spectator was concerned—and he must be given the greatest of credit for his wonderful—if sometimes lucky—goalkeeping.
County will want to forget this game. Their young team just did not hit it off.
