| Match Report | Report from the North Star. King's Own Scottish Borderers 3 Ross County 1 This return game was as featureless as the previous one at Dingwall and again neither side displayed football of interest. Unfortunately, in the second half temper was shown, and a player of each side received marching orders. In the first period the soldiers were the superior side and registered goals through Johnstone (two) and Naylor. The latter's was from a long drive, which swerved away to completely deceive Sherlaw. The County’s only reply came from Tarrel, which Dodd’s assisted in to his own goal. After the resumption the Ross County took a firm hold of the game, and although they pressed strongly were unable to penetrate the soldiers’ solid defence. On several occasions Lewin made wonderful saves but was fortunate in being faced by an attack that was distinctly weak in its finish. |
