Huntly 5 Ross County 1

The County’s last away fixture of the season was another heavy defeat at Christie Park.
With a strong wind behind them, Huntly took up the running, and Stewart opened their scoring when he netted off Nicol’s flag-kick. A strong reply came from the visitors, and Mackay was instrumental in squaring the scores. However, after twenty minutes of play, Young put his club back in the lead. Close to the interval, bad tactical blunders on the part of the visiting defence enabled Stewart to add two further goals, which completed his hat-trick.
Even with the aid of the elements, the County did not impress, and the hosts registered again through Mitchell. Roused to greater efforts, the County finished with a dash, but their endeavours were unavailing against a home defence that cleared its goal lines cleverly.
