| Match Report | Report from the Ross-shire Journal. Ross County 2, Caledonian FC 0 Ross County lowered Caledonian’s unbroken league record by defeating them by two goals to nil at Victoria Park, Dingwall, on Saturday. It was an exceedingly fast tussle, and played on a field more like a morass than a football pitch, it extracted the last ounce of strength out of the players. Ross County throughout had the better of the exchanges, but both sides missed chances, and the Caledonian goalkeeper saved innumerable likely shots. The first half was barren of goals, and the second half had all but gone when the County notched their first point through Mackay, Aird getting the second goal minutes afterwards. The County played exceptionally well as a team, and individually there were no failures. It was the best side fielded this season, while Mackay was a decided improvement at outside right. |
