Ross County remain in the relegation zone in the Scottish Championship as they fell to another home defeat with a disappointing performance against Greenock Morton.
Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Nathan Shaw gave Morton the lead midway through the first half.
Cameron Macpherson doubled their advantage just before the hour mark before Michael Garrity wrapped up all three points with 13 minutes remaining.
It was Ross County’s fifth home defeat this season with previous losses in Dingwall to St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Arbroath and Queen’s Park and seventh loss overall.
With Airdrieonians beating Raith Rovers 3-0 in Kirkcaldy, the Staggies are now only one point above the Diamonds and one point from safety from Queen’s Park in eighth who lost 4-3 at St Johnstone.
Ross County made two changes to the team that drew 3-3 with Ayr United last weekend.
Alex Iacovitti and Len O’Sullivan came back into the starting line-up at the expense of Kieran Phillips and Dylan Smith who were demoted to the substitutes bench.

Despite only losing three league matches all season before kick-off, Greenock Morton were also having a disappointing campaign having just won two games and having drawn nine.
County came close to opening the scoring early on when Morton defender Kristian Moore was forced to usher the ball out for a corner kick. Gary Mackay-Steven was the first to react to the corner kick when his shot from 12 yards out forced a good save from James Storer.
But from the resultant goal kick, Shaw latched on to a long ball from Owen Moffat and charged down the left wing and was left unchallenged as he burst into the box.
He then fired a shot past Trevor Carson into the bottom right corner from 12-yards to give the visitors the lead.
Morton pushed for a second and came close just after the half hour mark when Carson had to be alert to handle a low drive from Tomi Adeloye.
County came close to an equaliser five minutes before half time when Ronan Hale’s cross from the right wing found the head of Jordan White.
But the tall striker was unable to guide the ball towards goal as County were left with much to ponder going into the break behind.
Ross County manager Tony Docherty attempted to freshen things up as he brought on Scott Fraser on for O’Sullivan in the second half.
But it was Morton who doubled their advantage after 57 minutes when Shaw’s free-kick from the right wing was nodded out of the box.
But it fell to Macpherson who fired a low drive straight into the bottom right corner.
Morton then wrapped up all three points with 13 minutes remaining when a Cammy Ballantyne cross from the left wing eventually found its way to Garrity who was unchallenged in the six-yard box to fire home and secure all three points.
