Ross County 2 Montrose 1 Ross County goal hero Gary Wood was relieved to his first goals in front of the Dingwall fans since his signing at the end of last season from Cowdenbeath. His double strike in the Coca-Cola Cup finalists Falkirk in the next round on Saturday. The 20-year-old striker set ball rolling with a crisp shot from inside the 18-yard box low into the corner of the net in 57 minutes before he added a second in 64 minutes. Scott Taylor scored a consolation seven minutes later for Montrose. County boss Neale Cooper admitted his side were jittery towards the end of the game. He said: "We could have killed the game near the end, but we created a lot of chances. "They put us under a bit of pressure and I've seen it before when teams go 2-0 up that the other side will come into the game, which Montrose did." |
